Augustana captures second straight cciw tournament title

ROCK ISLAND, Ill. -- Augustana's 71-60 win over Illinois Wesleyan Saturday night in the championship game of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Basketball Tournament was the Vikings' second straight tournament title and gave them the automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.

Augustana was led by Alex Washington's 14 points while Justin Bertrand had 13 points and 11 rebounds on the night. Matt Pelton scored 11 for the Vikings.

Sean Johnson led Illinois Wesleyan with 15 points while Darius Gant had 14 and Travis Rosenkranz scored 10 for the Titans.

NCAA Tournament selections will be announced Sunday, March 2, and the full bracket released Monday, March 3.
