NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- D3Hoops.com announced its men's and women's all-America teams Monday as four student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) were honored by the web publication.
Wheaton junior Kent Raymond (New Palestine, Ind./H.S.) earned first team honors while Carthage freshman Steve Djurickovic (Pleasant Prairie, Wis., Bradford) and Elmhurst junior Brent Ruch (Farmer City, Ill./Blue Ridge) were named to the fourth team. All three student-athletes earned first team all-conference honors in 2007-08 with Raymond being named the CCIW Fred Young Most Outstanding Player for the second year in a row.
Additionally, Djurickovic was named the D3Hoops.com Rookie of the Year for 2007-08.
Raymond was recently named an all-American by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC).
On the women's side, Millikin senior Lindsay Ippel (Decatur, Ill./St. Teresa) was named a first team member. Ippel was recognized numerous times this season for her work on the court and in the classroom. Last week, she was named an all-American by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA). The College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) also recently named Ippel the Academic All-American of the Year for the College Division.
In the CCIW, Ippel was named first team all-conference, and the CCIW Most Outstanding Player.
D3Hoops.com is a website devoted strictly to the coverage of NCAA Division III basketball. The all-America team was voted on by the Sports Information Directors at each of the various Division III schools across the country.
