CCIW Teams Represented in d3hoops.com preseason top 25

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- D3hoops.com, a website devoted strictly to the coverage of NCAA Division III basketball, has released its top 25 preseason rankings and four College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) teams placed in the poll.

The Augustana and Elmhurst men, along with the Millikin and Illinois Wesleyan women were listed among the nation's best.

On the men's side, Augustana placed fifth in the national rankings after finishing 22-6 a year ago (11-3 in the CCIW), winning the conference's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. Elmhurst, listed 18th, finished 21-6 last season (10-4 in the CCIW).

For the women, Millikin, ranked 13th in the poll, is coming off a 20-6 record (11-3 in the CCIW). Illinois Wesleyan, ranked 15th in the poll, achieved a 22-6 record (11-3 in the CCIW) in 2006-07, winning an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Wheaton and Carthage men earned a spot in the "others receiving votes" category with 71 and 67 points respectively. The Carthage women placed in the "others receiving votes" category with one vote.
