2002-03 CCIW MEN'S BASKETBALL PLAYER OF THE WEEK

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – For the first time in College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin history the league has a three-way tie for the championship in men’s basketball. Illinois Wesleyan, Carthage and Augustana all finished the 2002-03 season with 11-3 conference records. Those three teams also produced the final "Players of the Week" as each team clinched a piece of the championship with convincing wins on Saturday, March 1.

Powell scored 25 points and grabbed five rebounds as the Redmen beat Wheaton 72-64 in Kenosha, Wisconsin on March 1. He was 11 of 14 from the floor in the victory.

Camardella scored 19 points, grabbed 12 rebounds and had seven assists as the Titans beat Elmhurst 73-65 on Saturday night in Bloomington. Earlier in the week he had 12 points, four rebounds and three assists in Wesleyan’s 70-62 victory at Millikin.

Carstens scored 38 points, grabbed five rebounds, had three assists and two steals in Augustana’s 93-78 win at North Park on March 1. Carstens was nine of 18 from the field, including four of nine from three point range, and was 16 of 17 from the free throw line.
