CCIW Outdoor Track And Field
NCAA Announces Track & Field Participants
NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The NCAA released the list of participants for the Division III Track & Field Championships Monday, which will be held May 25-27 in Lisle, Ill., on the campus of Benedictine University.
A total of 688 student-athletes will compete in the championships. Student-athletes qualified by reaching the automatic and provisional standards for each event.
The field features 39 student-athletes from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), including 16 men and 23 women. North Central leads the way with 15 student -athletes (eight male, seven female), while Augustana will send eight (three male, five female). Wheaton (three male, four female), Millikin (one male, two female), Illinois Wesleyan (one male, three female) and Carthage (one female) rounded out the conference schools sending participants to the championships.
The North Central men are no stranger to success, having won four outdoor national titles, and one indoor. The Cardinals' last outdoor title came during the 2000 season, while also winning in 1989, 1994 and 1998. North Central's indoor title came in 1989.
