WHEATON, Ill. -- Wheaton Athletic Director Tony Ladd has announced the hiring of Brad Pihl as head coach of the Thunder men’s tennis program. Pihl replaces Dave Webster, who resigned last month.

Pihl is a 1999 graduate of Wheaton with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business and Economics and holds a Master’s Degree in Communications Studies from Northern Illinois University.

Pihl was a four-year letterwinner for the Wheaton men’s tennis program and was a member of Wheaton’s CCIW-Champion men’s tennis team in 1996. He won a conference championship at number-three doubles at the 1997 CCIW Championships.

Pihl has spent the past six years as a tennis professional at College Park Athletic Club in Deerfield, Illinois. In addition to his role as a tennis pro, he has coached several junior tennis players, including nationally ranked players. Pihl’s previous team coaching experience includes tenures as a prep coach. He served as the girl’s tennis coach at nearby Wheaton Academy in 2000 and he was the girl’s tennis coach for Woodlands Academy in Lake Forest, Illinois in 2004 and again in 2006.
