Wheaton's williams named cciw men's tennis player of the week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Wheaton's Josh Williams was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week Wednesday after his performance during the previous week of competition.

Williams, a senior from Naperville, Ill., played an instrumental role in Wheaton’s 7-2 win over defending conference champion Carthage on March 28. He defeated Carthage’s Miguel Yunes (ranked fifth in central region) 6-4, 2-6, 11-9 at No. 1 singles, and teamed with Justin Miller to defeat Yunes and Sergio Lopez (ranked ninth in central region) 9-7 at No. 1 doubles.
