carthage's Yunes named cciw men's tennis player of the week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Carthage's Miguel Yunes was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men's Tennis Player of the Week Tuesday after his performance during the past weekend of competition.

In a 7-2 loss Saturday to regionally-ranked Luther, Yunes, a senior from Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico, defeated 19th regionally ranked Max Busch 7-5, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. He also teamed with Sergio Lopez and defeated the 11th regionally ranked team of Busch and Jono Martin 8-3 at No. 1 doubles. On Sunday, Carthage lost 5-4 to regionally-ranked Carleton. However, Yunes defeated 11th regionally ranked Colin Russell 3-6, 6-2, (10-6). He also teamed with Lopez and defeated Russell and Winston Park 8-6 at No. 1 Doubles.
