NAPERVILLE, Ill. - North Central College has tabbed Robert Comerford as the new head men's tennis coach for the 2006-07 academic year. Comerford will also teach English at the College.
"I'm really looking forward to working with college athletes," Comerford said. "Teaching tennis is a full-time passion for me. My formula for success is to work hard and have a lot of fun. Winning doesn't come by accident. It comes with preparation, training and commitment. I am looking for student-athletes who are willing to improve their tennis game and contribute to a resurgent Cardinal tennis program."
As a tennis coach, Comerford has compiled a 554-165 record in 32 years as the varsity tennis coach for the boys and girls teams at Hinsdale South High School. He coached the girls state runner-up team in 2003 and has won 18 West Suburban Conference championships. Comerford has overseen two All-American and 12 All-State players. He is also the founder/director of Bob Comerford Tennis Camps. The camps are for ages 5 to 18 and he has instructed over 2500 players since the camp's inception in 1975.
