Pietrucha, Potacki Named CCIW Softball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Hillary Pietrucha of Elmhurst and Lori Potacki of North Central were named softball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Pietrucha, a senior from Orland Hills, Ill., led Elmhurst to a 5-1 record on the week after posting a .421 batting average and a team-high 12 RBI. Pietrucha recorded eight hits in 19 at bats including four extra base hits (two doubles, triple, home run). Her best game came in the Bluejays’ 10-1 win over North Park where she drove in six, including four on an inside-the-park grand slam.

Potacki, a junior from Palos Hills, Ill., went 3-0 on the week and helped North Central to a doubleheader sweep of Carthage on Tuesday, April 25. She allowed just nine hits and two earned runs in 14 combined innings pitched. Potacki was also 2-for-6 on the day, including game-winning hit in game two. On April 27 Potacki improved her season record to 15-5 by leading the Cardinals to a 2-1 win over Beloit.
