Blackburn, Hall Named CCIW Softball Players of the Week
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Kate Blackburn of Millikin and Jaci Hall of Elmhurst were named softball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.
In six games last week, Blackburn, a junior from McHenry, Ill., hit .400 and helped Millikin to splits with both Elmhurst and North Central. She was 6-for-15 with two doubles and two RBI. In a double header with Fontbonne, she was 2-for-5 with 2 RBI. In conference action, she was 2-for-5 with two runs scored against Elmhurst. Against North Central she was 2-for-5 with two doubles.
Hall, a sophomore from Aurora, Ill., pitched Elmhurst to a doubleheader split with Millikin by firing a complete game shutout in the second game of a doubleheader. Hall allowed only four hits and one walk in seven innings. She struck out four in the win and did not allow a runner to reach third base after the first inning.
