Illinois Wesleyan in First after Second Round of CCIW Men’s Golf Championship

BOLINGBROOK, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan leads after the first two rounds of the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golf Championship with a two-day team score of 612.

The championship, which was held Friday and Saturday at Bolingbrook Golf Club, will continue with the third and fourth rounds on Friday, May 4 and Saturday, May 5 at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Ill.

Defending champion Carthage is currently in second place with a two-day score of 613, while North Park is third with a score of 633. Wheaton (636), Elmhurst (637), Millikin (637), Augustana (638) and North Central (671) rounded out the team scores.

Drew Kepple of Illinois Wesleyan currently leads among the 40 individuals with a two-day score of 151, while Peter Johnson of North Park and Bennett Blakeman of Illinois Wesleyan are both tied for second at 152. There is currently a four-way tie for fourth place as Augustana’s Eric Johnson, Millikin’s Mark Linton and Carthage’s Matt Carr and Tim Gannon each have a score of 154.

Last year’s medalist, Tyler Wollberg of Carthage, is currently in eighth with a score of 155, while Anthony Pryor of Elmhurst is ninth (156). Scott Hood of Carthage, Sam Osborne of Millikin, Ryan Gumbel of Illinois Wesleyan and Anthony Milano of Carthage are each in a four-way tie for tenth place with a score of 157 respectively.
