ABCA Announces all-region baseball Team

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The American Baseball Coaches Association recently released its all-region squads and 18 members from College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) schools were named to the 2007 NCAA Division III Central Region Team.

Six members of the first team were from the CCIW, while the conference had five and seven members of the second and third teams respectively. All 18 student-athletes earned all-conference recognition earlier in the week.

Augustana's Jake Meisenbach (first team), Marc Blakeley (first team), John Wagle (second team), and Don Hansen (second team) earned all-region recognition, while Illinois Wesleyan had four members of the team including Ricky Angel (first team), Matt Aronson (Illinois Wesleyan), Travis Myers (third team) and Robert Inzinga (third team). Carthage had six members on the team including David Hermes (first team), Jeff Livek (first team), Tyler Yapp (second team), Boe Baitinger (second team), Chris Krepline (second team) and Jacob Husing (third team).

Elmhurst's Jim Deschamps (third team) and Tom Rhein (third team), along with North Park's Frank Green (third team) and Wheaton's Brian Kolb (third team) were also members of the all-region squad.
