Ladd, Aronson Named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Illinois Wesleyan’s Kraig Ladd and Matt Aronson were named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Ladd, a sophomore leftfielder from Shelbyville, Ill., and Shelbyville High School, batted .583 (seven-for-12) with three doubles and seven runs batted in to help Illinois Wesleyan to three wins, including two conference wins. Ladd had two doubles and two RBI in the Titans’ 14-1 win over Elmhurst on March 29. He then went two-for-four with another RBI in the nightcap, a 5-0 Illinois Wesleyan win. He was three-for-five with four RBI in an 8-0 non-conference win over Wabash on March 26.

Aronson, a junior pitcher from LaGrange, Ill., and St. Ignatius High School, yielded three hits and struck out nine in eight innings of a 5-0 win over Elmhurst on March 29. He also struck out one in an inning against Wabash on March 26. The Titans pitching staff had an ERA of 0.00 for the week, allowing 13 hits and one unearned run in 25 innings in the three wins.
