Peck, Price Named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Bob Peck of Millikin and Matt Price of Wheaton were named baseball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Peck, a senior from Orland Park, Ill., hit .545 in Millikin’s four games last week as the Big Blue went 3-1 in CCIW play and improved to 6-6. Peck was 6-for-11 with two doubles, two RBI and three runs scored with a stolen base in those four games. He was 2-for-3 in a loss to Illinois Wesleyan. In game one against Elmhurst, he was 0-for-0 after drawing three walks and scored a run. In game two against Elmhurst he was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run scored. In game three against Elmhurst he was 2-for-4 with a run scored, RBI and a stolen base. He is hitting .359 on the season (22 games).

Price, a junior from Corpus Christi, Texas, led Wheaton to a 5-2 victory against nationally-ranked Augustana last Wednesday. The southpaw struck out 10 Vikings batters, with just one walk and scattered five hits. Price posted a complete game, allowing two earned runs in the win.
