Law, Evosevich Named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Eric Law of Millikin and Scott Evosevich of Carthage were named baseball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Law, a junior from Mount Zion, Ill., hit .529 in five CCIW games last week with a .765 slugging percentage. He was 9-for-17 with four doubles and six RBI while reaching safely on all four of his stolen base attempts. In the first game against Illinois Wesleyan he was 2-for-2 with a run and an RBI to go with a double. In the second game against the Titans he was 1-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base. In a win over Wheaton he was 1-for-5 with two stolen bases. In the second game against Wheaton he was 2-for-3 with a run scored an RBI and a double. And in the final game against Wheaton he was 3-for-3 with three RBI, three runs scored, two doubles, a sacrifice fly and a stolen base. Law is hitting .442 on the season with 11 doubles and 28 RBI.

Evosevich, a senior from Iron Mountain, Mich., defeated Augustana, 3-1, on April 8 as the Red Men swept the Vikings in a doubleheader. Evosevich (4-0) allowed one unearned run on seven hits and one walk over nine innings and dropped his season earned run average to 0.50 with two earned runs in 36.0 innings pitched.
