D3 Week Spotlight: The CCIW, Division III and the Special Olympics
It has been another banner year for NCAA Division III, the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) and the Special Olympics. Since 2011, the Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) has collaborated and engaged with Special Olympics in a partnership that demonstrates the citizenship and comprehensive learning attributes of Division III student-athletes. CCIW Receives NADIIIAA Community Service Award
The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was the third-place recipient of a National Association of Division III Athletic Administrators (NADIIIAA) Community Service Award on Friday at the NCAA Convention in Phoenix, Ariz. NADIIIAA recognized the CCIW’s “Very Important Teammate” initiative as part of the Special Olympics Activity Category.
