GENEVA, Ohio -- A total of 12 individuals and two relay teams from the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) earned all-America status during the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships held May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute.
In the men's team standings, North Central was sixth with 26 points, followed by Carroll in 21st with 13 points, Augustana in 42nd with six points and Wheaton in 50th with five points. On the women's side, Wheaton accomplished its highest finish in program history as the Thunder placed sixth with 32 points, followed by Carthage in 18th with 13 points and Carroll in 40th with six points.

Favor Ezewuzie (Malden, Mass./Covenant Christian Academy) was an all-American in four events on Saturday including a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles (13.85), a third place finish in the 100-meter dash (11.708) and the 200-meter dash (23.80), and a sixth place finish in the 4x100-meter relay (46.89) as she joined Abby
Grace McGee (Cimarron, Colo./Mesa Valley Community),
Sydney Jones (Eden Prairie, Minn./Southwest Christian) and
Natasha Brown (Aurora, Ill./Aurora Christian). Brown was also fourth in the 200 with a time of 24.00.
Also on Saturday, Carthage's
Sarah Schmidt (Darwin, Minn./H.S.) claimed her second all-America honor of the weekend as she placed seventh in the hammer (168-1). Carroll's
Emily Uitenbroek (Kaukauna, Wis./H.S.) was third with a toss of 174-0.
On the men's side,
Dhruvil Patel (Skokie, Ill./Niles North) won his second national title of the meet on Saturday, this time in the 5,000-meter run (14:40.86). A six-time national champion, Patel closes his career with 13 combined all-America honors in cross country and track and field, setting a new program record in the process. Teammate
Peyton Piron (Batavia, Ill./H.S.) was fifth in the 400-meter dash (46.90) and was part of the seventh place 4x400-meter relay team (3:12.87), joining
Michael Stanley (Geneva, Ill./Batavia),
Maceo Findlay (Shorewood, Ill./Minooka) and
Gavin Cernek (Glenview, Ill./Glenbrook South).
Carroll's
Grant Marton (New Berlin, Wis./West) wrapped up his career with a second place finish in the 800-meter run (1:52.01), while Augustana's
Cody Wheeler (East Moline, Ill./United) was fifth in the hammer (198-5) and
Brandon Wilkerson (Stelle, Ill./Tri-Point) placed seventh in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (9:12.72).

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services nine member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carroll University (Waukesha, WI), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2017-18 academic year, the CCIW honored over 2,100 academic all-conference recipients, 15 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 28 CoSIDA Academic All-District recipients, and over 100 all-Americans.
