NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s
Hiromitsu Washizu was selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Golfer of the Week on Tuesday.
Washizu, a sophomore from Chiba, Japan (Finance, Economics, Accounting major), finished second with a four-over par 76 during the Illinois College Spring Invitational on Sunday at the Links of Jacksonville. The event was shortened from two days to one day due to the weather as Washizu played on a soggy course with winds gusting to 30 MPH and the temperature in the 40s. He finished one stroke behind first place Bailey Van Handel of Concordia (Wis.).
