Michaela Johnson and North Central’s
Christina Truver were selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.
Johnson, a freshman midfielder from Mukwonago, Wisconsin and Mukwonago High School (Business Administration/Information Technology major), helped lead the Pioneers to a 3-0 record last week with 14 goals and three assists. She finished with five goals and two assists in a 14-10 win at Hanover on March 19, six goals in a 17-5 win at Mt. St. Joseph on March 21, and three goals and one assist in an 8-7 win over Saint Mary’s (Ind.) on March 24.
Truver, a sophomore midfielder from Hoffman Estates, Illinois and Fremd High School (English major), totaled 23 draw controls, 10 ground balls and seven caused turnovers for the 2-1 Cardinals last week. She finished with six ground balls, three draw controls and two caused turnovers in a 15-10 win over Hamline on March 19. Truver totaled a school-record 13 draw controls at Colorado College on March 21, and seven draw controls, four ground balls and four caused turnovers in a 14-11 win over Albion on March 25. She also had nine goals and two assists on the week.
