NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Favor Ezewuzie and North Central’s Kayla Etherton were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Ezewuzie, a freshman from Malden, Massachusetts and Covenant Christian Academy (Elementary Education major), set three personal records at North Central’s Cardinal Classic on Friday. She established a new school record in the 60-meter hurdles as she placed third with a time of 9.18. Ezewuzie also placed second in the 60-meter dash (7.928) and third in the long jump with a height of 17-3 ¼ (5.26 meters) on Friday. Her distance in the long jump and time in the 60-meter dash currently rank third in the CCIW, while her 60-meter hurdles time is currently second in the conference.  
 
Etherton, a senior from Bolingbrook, Illinois and Bolingbrook High School (Interactive Media Studies major), broke her own school record in winning the 20-pound weight throw during the Cardinal Classic, finishing with a distance of 56-6 (17.22 meters). She also finished second in the shot put with a personal best throw of 41-5 (12.62 meters). Etherton is ranked second in the CCIW and 15th nationally in the weight throw.
