NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 2017 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Volleyball Tournament field was set in place after Tuesday’s slate of contests closed out the regular season.
No. 3 seed Illinois Wesleyan (22-6, 6-2) will face No. 2 seed Carthage (23-8, 6-2) at 4:30 p.m., followed by No. 4 seed Elmhurst (10-18, 5-3) facing No. 1 seed Millikin (27-6, 8-0) at 7 p.m. Both matches will take place at Millikin’s Griswold Center.
The one-seeded Big Blue, coming off their seventh CCIW regular season title in program history, are in the conference tournament for the ninth-straight season. Millikin is the defending tournament champion, having won this event four times in program history. The fourth-seeded Bluejays will make their 10th-straight tournament appearance.
The second-seeded Lady Reds have won the CCIW Tournament nine times and have qualified for every tournament ever held. The third-seeded Titans are back in the tournament for the first time since 2015 and are looking for their first title since 1997.
The semifinal winners will advance to the tournament championship on Saturday at 6 p.m. at Millikin. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Volleyball Championship.
