NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 2017 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Men’s Soccer Tournament field was set in place after Saturday’s slate of contests closed out the regular season.
No. 3 seed Carthage (12-6-2, 5-2-1) travels to No. 2 seed Illinois Wesleyan (11-5-1, 6-2-0) on Tuesday, October 31, while No. 4 seed North Central (8-8-1, 5-3-0) travels to No. 1 seed and conference champion North Park (15-1-1, 7-0-1) on Wednesday, November 1. Both matches will take place at 7 p.m.
The first-seeded Vikings, winners of their fourth regular season title in program history and first since 2006, makes its 12th CCIW Tournament appearance under the current format, which began in 2002. North Park has won 12 conference tournament titles, the last coming in 2010. The fourth-seeded Cardinals will make their first tournament appearance since 2015 when they advanced to the championship match. North Park beat North Central 3-0 on October 25.
The second-seeded Titans are in the conference tournament for the second-straight season and sixth time in program history, while the third-seeded Red Men enter as the two-time defending tournament champion. Carthage is making its 14th tournament appearance under the current format and have won this event three times (2011, 2015, 2016). The Red Men defeated the Titans 2-1 on October 21.
The highest remaining seed after the two semifinal matches will host the tournament championship on Saturday, November 4 at a time to be determined. The winner will earn the conference’s automatic bid to the NCAA Division III Men’s Soccer Championship.
