North Central's Majer, Carthage's Bennett named CCIW Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Helen Majer and Carthage’s Mia Bennett were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.
 
Majer, a senior from Wheaton, Illinois and Wheaton-Warrenville South High School (Biology major), won her heat of the indoor mile at Grand Valley State Bob Eubanks Open on Friday. She finished with a time of 5:20.14 (converted 5:23.31) and currently ranks 29th on the NCAA Division III national list. She also placed seventh in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:48.56 (converted 10:54.14).
 
Bennett, a junior from Lindenhurst, Illinois and Lakes Community High School (Psychology), won the weight throw with a mark of 17.67 (58-0 ¼) at Carthage’s Private College Championship on Saturday. Her throw was a lifetime best and currently ranks third in NCAA Division III. The Lady Reds won the eight-team event with 201.50 points.
