USTFCCCA honors 51 CCIW track & field athletes as All-Academic recipients

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) named 51 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) student-athletes to its 2014-15 all-academic track & field team on Friday.

A total of 27 men’s athletes and 24 women’s athletes earned the distinction as North Central led the way on the men’s side with 11 recipients, while Illinois Wesleyan led on the women’s side with nine recipients.

The 27 male winners were part of a group of 297 individuals at the NCAA Division III level to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. The 24 women’s recipients were part of a group of 420 individuals to earn the distinction.

Additionally, 11 CCIW programs, including four men’s programs and seven women’s programs, were named USTFCCCA All-Academic Teams. A total of 99 men’s teams and 170 women’s teams earned the distinction for compiling a cumulative team GPA of 3.10 or higher.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Track and Field Team, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.30 and have met either of the following athletic standards: competed in an NCAA Indoor or Outdoor Championship or finished the regular season ranked in the national top-35 in an individual event or ranked in the national top-25 (collective listing) in a relay event on the official NCAA POP list provided by TFRRS.org.
