Fisher, Conniff named CCIW Women's Lacrosse Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Gina Fisher and Augustana’s Bridget Conniff were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Lacrosse Players of the Week on Monday.

Fisher, a junior midfielder from St. Louis, Missouri and Ursuline Academy (Marketing/Management major), helped lead the Cardinals to a 2-1 record last week, totaling nine goals, five assists and 16 ground balls. She tallied four goals, two assists and seven ground balls in a 14-13 overtime win at Aurora in the season opener on March 10. She added two assists and four ground balls in a 14-8 loss to Albion on March 12, but added five goals, one assist and five ground balls in a 22-4 win over Carroll on March 14 in the CCIW opener for both teams. Fisher also tallied 15 caused turnovers and 13 draw controls in the three games.

Conniff, a senior defender from Downers Grove, Illinois and Benet Academy (Biology major), helped lead the Vikings to a 19-1 thrashing of two-time defending Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) champion Adrian on March 14. She totaled two ground balls, a draw control and three of her team’s four caused turnovers. Coming into the game, Adrian was the only team to beat Augustana on its home field in program history.
