Costanzo, Harmon named CCIW Women's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- North Central’s Megan Costanzo and Illinois Wesleyan’s Jill Harmon were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Costanzo, a junior from Huntington Beach, California and Somonauk (Ill.) High School (Psychology major), won the 5,000-meter run at the 24-team Chicagoland Championships, hosted by North Central on Friday. Her time of 17:44.83 was 20 seconds ahead of the second place finisher and it currently ranks first in the CCIW and 25th on the NCAA Division III national list. She also finished sixth in the 1,000-meter run (3:09.11).

Harmon, a junior from St. Louis, Missouri and Lindbergh High School (Mathematics major), finished second in the triple jump at Monmouth’s Fighting Scots Indoor Invitational on Saturday. Her lifetime best distance of 39-3 (11.96 meters) was a school record and currently ranks first in the CCIW and nationally.
