Augustana's Voland, North Central's Winder named CCIW Men's Indoor Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s David Voland and North Central’s Luke Winder were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week on Tuesday.

Voland, a senior from Batavia, Illinois and Batavia High School (Mathematics Education major), placed in the top five in three events at the Olivet Nazarene Invitational on Saturday. He anchored the winning 4x400-meter relay team (3:21.18) with a split time of 49.0 and finished fourth in the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.57. His fourth place time of 22.22 in the 200-meter dash is currently ranked fourth nationally and first in the CCIW.

Winder, a freshman from Joliet, Illinois and Plainfield Central High School (Physical Education major), broke his own school freshman record in the pole vault at Olivet Nazarene on Saturday. His vault of 17-4 ½ tied older brother Josh Winder for fourth in school history and 10th among all indoor marks ever recorded in NCAA Division III. His mark ranks first both nationally and in the conference.
