Clemens, Redlinski named CCIW Women's Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Illinois Wesleyan’s Tara Clemens and North Central’s Jocelyn Redlinski were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.

Clemens, a senior from Bloomington, Illinois and Bloomington High School (Business-Marketing major), finished first in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:10.28 in windy conditions at the Washington University Select Meet over the weekend. Her time currently leads the nation.

Redlinski, a junior from Orchard Park, New York and Orchard Park High School (Entrepreneurship major), placed second in the heptathlon with 4,193 points at Lewis University’s Chicagoland Championship over the weekend. Her point total was a personal best and currently leads the conference. She also placed second in the open 100-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 14.71, currently first in the CCIW and a personal best.

The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) was founded in 1946 and currently services eight member institutions including Augustana College (Rock Island, IL), Carthage College (Kenosha, WI), Elmhurst College (Elmhurst, IL), Illinois Wesleyan University (Bloomington, IL), Millikin University (Decatur, IL), North Central College (Naperville, IL), North Park University (Chicago, IL) and Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL). During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
