Krajec, Eggert named CCIW Volleyball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin’s Audrey Krajec and North Central’s Sarah Eggert were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Volleyball Players of the Week Wednesday.

Krajec, a sophomore middle hitter from West Salem, Illinois and Edwards County High School (Nursing major) averaged 3.86 kills per set to go along with a .562 attack percentage as the Big Blue went 4-0 at the Virginia Wesleyan Invitational over the weekend. She finished with 15 kills in 21 attempts for a .619 attack percentage during a 3-0 win over Mount Aloysius on August 31. Later in the day, she added 10 kills and two service aces in a 3-0 victory against Neumann. Krajec then tallied 12 kills, one service ace and five block assists in a 3-0 victory over Marymount. She finished the tournament with 17 kills on 22 assists for a .636 hitting percentage in a 3-2 win over host Virginia Wesleyan.

Eggert, a junior libero/defensive specialist from Woodridge, Illinois and Downers Grove South High School (Spanish major), averaged 5.38 digs and a .976 reception percentage as the Cardinals went 3-1 at the Pacific Coast Classic over the weekend. Eggert totaled 26 digs in a 3-2 win over Chapman on Friday and 20 digs in a 3-1 win over Whittier later that day. On Saturday, she had 16 digs in a 3-1 loss to Minnesota-Morris, but followed up with 24 digs in a 3-0 victory against 16th-ranked UMass-Boston. She totaled 86 digs for the tournament.

During the 2011-12 academic year, the CCIW honored 1,323 academic all-conference recipients, 16 CoSIDA Academic All-Americans, 1 CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year, 89 all-Americans and three national championship teams.
