NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The 2012 American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings NCAA Division III Central Region Team featured 16 College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) student-athletes as announced by the ABCA Tuesday.

North Park pitchers Steve Kuligowski (Grayslake, Ill./Parkland C.C.) and Nick Soldano (Lake Zurich, Ill./Zion-Benton), the CCIW’s reigning Co-Pitcher of the Year, along with senior catcher Tony Sanchez (Plainfield, Ill./South) were named to the first team. Illinois Wesleyan junior first baseman Kevin Callahan (Chicago, Ill./Brother Rice), the reigning CCIW Player of the Year, along with Wheaton junior first baseman Trey Martin (Wheaton, Ill./North) and senior utility man Drew Golz (River Forest, Ill./Oak Park-River Forest) were named to the first team as well.

CCIW Co-Pitcher of the Year Mike Trotta (Chicago, Ill./Notre Dame) from Augustana was named to the second team, along with Illinois Wesleyan junior catcher A.J. Nathan (Highland Park, Ill./H.S.), Elmhurst senior third baseman Zach Hofer (Algonquin, Ill./Jacobs), Wheaton senior shortstop Ryan Miller (Poway, Calif./H.S.), Augustana senior outfielder Mike Barker (Malina Del Rey, Calif./Grandview (Colo.)) and North Park senior outfielder Matt Rice (Park Ridge, Ill./Maine South).

Illinois Wesleyan sophomore designated hitter Bobby Czarnowski (Naperville, Ill./Central), along with senior outfielder Mark McDermott (Tinley Park, Ill./Andrew), Elmhurst sophomore outfielder Dave Wolak (Carol Stream, Ill./Glenbard North) and Augustana senior pitcher Josiah Martin (Canton, Ill./H.S.) were named to the third team.

In addition, Nathan, Hofer and North Park sophomore short stop Eric Sousanes (Aurora, Ill./Waubonsie Valley) were all named to the 2012 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division III Central Region Gold Glove Team.
