NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Elmhurst’s Jake Austin and North Central’s Josh Winder were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.
Austin, a junior from Yorkville, Ill., and Yorkville High School (Business major), finished second in the 1,500-meter run (3:53.94) during Benedictine’s Eagle Invitational over the weekend. His time is currently first in the CCIW and eighth nationally.
Winder, a junior from Joliet, Ill., and Plainfield Central High School (Physical Education major), won the pole vault at the Don Church Wheaton Twilight Invitational on April 14. He finished with a height of 16-11, which ties him for first on the nationally list.
