NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s Justin Smith and North Central’s Zach Heerspink were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Outdoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.

Smith, a junior from Bensenville, Ill., and Fenton High School (Pre-Medicine major), won the 1,500-meter run at the Wartburg Select on April 6. He finished with a time of 3:54.66, which is 10th on the NCAA Division III national list.

Heerspink, a junior from Holland, Mich., and Hamilton High School (Physical Education major), won the high jump at North Central’s Chicagoland Championships over the weekend. His height of 6-8 ¾ put him in a tie for sixth on the national list.
