Peters, Brown named CCIW Baseball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Millikin’s David Peters and North Central’s Connor Brown were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Baseball Players of the Week Tuesday.

Peters, a senior outfielder from Decatur, Ill., and Lake Land Community College (Fitness & Sport major), batted .421 with eight hits in 19 at-bats, eight runs, two RBI, a double, home run and a .632 slugging percentage last week. Batting leadoff, he finished 2-for-3 with three runs and an RBI during a 10-4 game two victory over Elmhurst on April 6. He was also 2-for-3 with three runs during a 13-5 win over the Bluejays on April 7 in the final game of the series.

Brown, a sophomore pitcher from Bloomington, Ill., and University High School (undeclared major), helped cap off a double-header sweep of Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, pitching seven shutout innings in his first collegiate start. He stranded seven Titan base runners, working his way out of a bases-loaded jam in the fourth as the Cardinals won 8-1.
