NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Jaime Orewiler and Augustana’s Taelar Hillyer were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.
Orewiler, a senior from Wheaton, Ill., and Wheaton North High School (Mathematics major), set a school record in the mile run with a first-place time of 5:59.53 during North Central’s Cardinal Classic on Friday. It was her first mile race of the season as she currently ranks 12th on the NCAA Division III national list.
Hillyer, a sophomore from Bettendorf, Iowa and Alleman High School (English major), won the pole vault during a triangular meet with St. Ambrose and Ashford last Thursday. She finished with a height of 11-7 ¾ , the second highest in school history.
