Vance, Wood named CCIW Men's Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Luke Vance and North Central’s John Wood were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday.

Vance, a junior from South Hamilton, Mass., and Hamilton-Wenham Regional High School (Interdisciplinary Studies), won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:54.43 at the Chicagoland Championships, hosted by North Central on Friday. It was his first time competing in the 800 this season and his time put him in first in the CCIW and 14th on the Division III national list.

Wood, a senior from Palatine, Ill., and Fremd High School (Management major), won the pole vault with a personal record of 17-1 ¼ (5.23 meters) at the Chicagoland Championships. His performance placed him second on the Division III national list.
