NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Augustana’s Sarahbeth Jones and Millikin’s Leann Spesard were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Track & Field Athletes of the Week Tuesday. 

Jones, a junior from Wadsworth, Ill., and Warren Township High School (English-Communications major), won the 3,000-meter run at Monmouth’s Midwest Invitational on Saturday. Her time of 10:16.73 was only a second from the Augustana school record.

Spesard, a junior from Paris, Ill., and Paris High School (Fitness & Sport major), placed second in the shot put (12.93 meters) and third in the weight throw (13.94 meters) at the Illinois College Snow Bird Open in Jacksonville, Illinois on Saturday. Her mark in the weight throw was a personal best.
