NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Matt Perez was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week Tuesday, his third such honor this season.

Perez, a junior from Hanover Park, Ill., and Hoffman Estates High School (undeclared major), was the Cardinals’ top finisher at the Brooks Invitational on Saturday, hosted by the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh. He finished fourth in the 8K with a time of 25:07, leading North Central to a first place finish in the 47-team field. The Cardinals out-distanced second-place Washington (Mo.) by 88 points.
