North Central's Swanson named CCIW Women's Basketball Player of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – North Central’s Jenny Swanson was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Basketball Player of the Week Monday.

Swanson, a sophomore guard from Oak Forest, Ill., and Oak Forest High School, averaged 13 points per game and shot 63.6 percent from three-point range, helping the Cardinals finish the week with a 2-0 record. Swanson scored a career-high 20 points against Robert Morris-Springfield last Tuesday, connecting on five three-pointers in just 16 minutes of action in the team's 71-52 victory. She came up big four days later on the road against the University of Dubuque, hitting a three-pointer with nine seconds left to give the Cardinals a 49-47 victory. Swanson finished the game with six points, shooting two-for-four from the field. She is a Physical Education major.
