NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Wheaton’s Katelyn Kishkunas and North Central’s Amy Frazzini were named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women’s Soccer Players of the Week Tuesday.
Kishkunas, a junior midfielder from Glenview, Ill., and Glenbrook South High School, helped lead Wheaton to a pair of CCIW victories last week as the Thunder clinched its first conference title since 2007. Last Wednesday night, Kishkunas assisted on all three Thunder goals in Wheaton’s 3-1 victory at Illinois Wesleyan to secure the conference title. On Saturday, she assisted on the game-winning goal in the 75th minute of a 1-0 win at home against Millikin. Kishkunas is an English and Secondary Education major.
Frazzini, a junior goalkeeper from Orland Park, Ill., and Carl Sandburg High School, recorded 16 saves on the week, helping the Cardinals close out the week unbeaten (1-0-1) in CCIW play. She recorded a career-high 10 saves in the team's 1-1 double overtime draw against 15th-ranked Augustana on Wednesday before posting six saves in the team's 2-1 win over North Park on Saturday to close out the 2010 season. Frazzini logged all 200 minutes in goal for the Cardinals, recording a goals against average of 0.90 and notching an .889 save percentage. She is an Exercise Science major.
