NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- Two men's and two women's College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) basketball teams were ranked in the DIII News Preseason Top 25 on Tuesday.

On the women's side, defending CCIW regular season and tournament champion Illinois Wesleyan (28-2, 13-1) was ranked fourth, while Carthage (24-5, 12-2) placed 18th. The Titans and the Lady Reds are both coming off NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament appearances in 2010, advancing to the sectional round. 

On the men's side, Illinois Wesleyan (23-8, 10-4) was ranked second, while defending CCIW regular season and tournament champion Carthage (24-6, 12-2) was ranked fourth. Both teams advanced to the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament last season with each team playing each other in the sectional semifinal. The Titans came away with a 77-72 win over the Red Men before losing to eventual national champion Wisconsin-Stevens Point in the sectional final.
