Mike Krizman began his tenure with the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin on June 3, 2005 as the CCIW’s first-ever full-time sports information director.
During his first year with the conference, Krizman worked in the retooling of the CCIW website, upgraded coverage of conference championships, and implemented
weekly game notes regarding CCIW sports. He took on the role of coordinating the CCIW's Student-Athlete Advisory Council in 2006 in addition to his sports information duties. During the 2006-07 season, Krizman published a conference-wide media guide for football and men's & women's basketball.
Before joining the conference, Krizman spent two years working as a graduate assistant in the media relations department at Illinois State University. He earned his bachelor’s (2003) degree in mass communication and master’s (2005) degree in sports management, both at ISU.
During his tenure as a graduate assistant he served as the primary contact for the Redbirds’ track & field and cross country teams. He also assisted the assistant athletics director for media relations in day-to-day publicity of the ISU football team. He was a member of the stat crew for the Missouri Valley Conference basketball tournament for two years and served as the media contact for the 2004 Missouri Valley Conference Track & Field Championships.
In addition, Krizman worked on the 2003 and 2004 football game programs that were judged “Best in the Nation” by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), and also contributed to the 2003-04 men’s basketball game program that was judged one of the top three in the nation by CoSIDA.
As an undergraduate he was the sports editor of the Daily Vidette, the ISU student newspaper, where his responsibilities ranged from publication layout, assigning coverage, preparing features and covering football, men’s basketball and track and field.
He has an associate of arts degree from the College of Lake County in Grayslake, Ill. (2001) where he served as the sports editor of the College of Lake County Chronicle.
Krizman married the former Gina Scarpino in June of 2007 and the couple reside in Yorkville.
