Florey, Passananti Earn CCIW Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named Jamie Florey of Millikin and Jenna Passananti of Illinois Wesleyan Volleyball Players of the Week Tuesday after their performances over the past week of competition.

Florey, a senior from Sullivan, Ill., helped Millikin improve to 27-8 with a second-place finish and all-tournament honors at last weekend’s UW-Oshkosh tournament. Florey led Millikin with 46 kills and a .300 hit percentage while adding six assists, nine digs and 10 blocks. Against Lakeland she hit .571 (8-of-14 with no errors) and recorded 16 kills and six blocks in the win over St. Scholastica. With her 10 blocks, she moved within one of tying the No. 4 spot on the career list.

Passananti played a key role in the Titans going 3-1 in their own weekend tournament. The sophomore from Western Springs, Ill., averaged 12.14 assists and 3.07 defensive digs in 14 games. She had 46 assists and 15 digs in a three-game win over Illinois College and had 42 assists along with six kills in a three-game win over Maranatha Baptist Bible College.
