Elmhurst Sweeps Volleyball Player of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named Erin Whitehead and Lindsay Johnson of Elmhurst Volleyball Players of the Week Tuesday after their performances over the past week of competition.

Whitehead helped guide the Bluejays to a 4-1 record on the week, leading the Bluejays in kills (56), kills per game (3.29), while adding nine aces, 11 blocks and 59 digs. She hit .307 for the week and reached double-figures in kills and digs four out of the five matches, inlucding registering a team-high 16 kills in Elmhurst’s win over No. 19 Eastern University.

Johnson, a senior from Rockford, Ill., averaged 12.00 digs per game over five matches (204 digs total). In addition, Johnson registered 35 kills, (2.06 per game) eight blocks, 11 service aces and 51 digs (3.00 per game). Johnson registered at least 38 assists in all five of the Bluejays matches and recorded 45 assists in the Bluejays’ wins over Calvin and Eastern University.
