Elmhurst Sweeps Volleyball Players of the Week Honors

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin named Nicole Carlson and Lindsay Johnson of Elmhurst Volleyball Players of the Week Tuesday after their performances over the past week.

Carlson, a senior from Forreston, Ill., helped guide the No. 9 Bluejays to a 6-0 record on the week, including a pair of CCIW victories. For the week, Carlson pounded down 70 kills and recorded 109 digs, averaging 3.89 kills and 3.44 digs per game. She hit .292 on the week and committed just 11 errors in 202 chances. She recorded double-digits in kills in five out of the six matches, including three out of the four matches played at the Wheaton College Tournament. She was also named to the all-tournament team at the Wheaton Tournament after leading the Bluejays to four victories including two wins over CCIW opponents.

Johnson, a senior from Rockford, Ill, was named to her third consecutive all-tournament team at the Wheaton College Tournament. She finished the week with 209 assists (11.61 per game), 27 kills (1.50 per game) 14 aces (0.78 per game), 43 digs (2.39 per game) and 16 blocks (0.89) per game. She registered 30 or more assists in all six matches, including 43 against Wheaton in the Wheaton Tournament. For the tournament matches, she finished with an average of 12 assists and 1.08 blocks per game. She has been named to an all-tournament team at every tournament the Bluejays have played in this season.
