Jungnickel, LeClaire Named CCIW Volleyball Players of the Week

NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Courtney Jungnickel of Augustana and Jessica LeClaire of Millikin were named volleyball players of the week in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Tuesday after their performances during the previous week of competition.

Jungnickel, a freshman outside hitter from Naperville, Ill., and Naperville Central High School, totaled 32 kills (3.2 average), six service aces (0.60), 31 digs (3.10) and four blocks (0.40) in three matches last week, all Augustana victories. She started the week with nine kills, five digs and three service aces in a 3-0 non-conference win against Knox on Tuesday, September 25. When the Vikings went on the road for a pair of CCIW matches over the weekend, Jungnickel was a major factor in wins at North Park (3-0) and Elmhurst (3-1). She had 10 kills, three service aces and 11 digs against North Park while hitting .429 (10 kills with one error and 21 attempts). She finished the week with 13 kills, 15 digs and two assisted blocks in the victory at Elmhurst.

LeClaire, a senior setter from Wauconda, Ill., and Carmel Catholic High School, had nine kills, 61 assists, three aces, and 23 digs in three games last week for the Big Blue. LeClaire had 30 set assists and eight digs in a 3-1 win over Millikin on Sept. 25, along with 14 assists and seven digs in a 3-0 loss to Wheaton on Sept. 29. Against nationally-ranked Carthage, LeClaire had 17 assists and eight digs.
