Carthage Lone CCIW Team in Latest Volleyball Preseason Poll

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The Carthage Lady Reds volleyball team will open up the 2007 season as the eighth ranked team in the country according to the latest CSTV/AVCA Preseason Coaches Poll.

Carthage finished 29-5 last season (7-0 in conference play) and is the only College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) team to place in the top 25 of the poll. The Lady Reds finished ninth in the final CSTV/AVCA Coaches Poll last season after a conference title and NCAA Tournament berth.

Two other CCIW teams earned a spot in the "Others Receiving Votes" category as Millikin and Illinois Wesleyan both received votes.

The first CSTV/AVCA Division III Coaches Top 25 poll of the regular season will be released Tuesday, September 11. For a complete list of the preseason poll, visit www.avca.org.
