Times, Pairings Set for CCIW Volleyball Play-in round

NAPERVILLE, Ill. -- The 2007 play-in round to determine the four seeds who will compete in the 2007 CCIW Volleyball Tournament was determined upon the completion of the conference regular season on Tuesday, Oct. 23.

All play-in round games will take place on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at each of the top four team's home sites. The top four seeds remaining after Tuesday night's games will advance to the CCIW Volleyball Tournament, which will be held Friday-Saturday, November 2-3 at the site of the highest remaining seed.

Carthage, with its 7-0 record in conference play, earned the CCIW regular season title and the No. 1 seed for the play-in round. They will host eighth seed North Park (0-7). No. 2 seed Augustana (6-1) will face No. 7 seed Millikin (2-5) at home while Wheaton earned the No. 3 seed, finishing 4-3 in the conference and will host No. 6 seed Elmhurst.

North Central (3-4) earned the fourth seed by virtue of its wins over Illinois Wesleyan and Elmhurst during the regular season. All three teams finished with identical 3-4 conference records during the regular season. The Cardinals will host No. 5 seed Illinois Wesleyan. Illinois Wesleyan earned the tiebreaker over Elmhurst by virtue of its win over the Bluejays during the regular season.
