2004 VOLLEYBALL "PLAYER OF THE WEEK"

ROCK ISLAND, Illinois – Jori Simmons of Carthage and Jenny Williams of North Park have been selected as the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin "Players of the Week" for the week ending October 23. Simmons was picked as the offensive player of the week while Williams was the setter/defensive player of the week.

Simmons hit .600 in four matches last week with 36 kills and just three errors in 55 attempts. She had eight kills and hit .726 in Carthage’s 3-0 win over Cardinal Stritch on October 23 in the Carthage Invitational and followed that with seven kills and a .545 attack percentage in a 3-0 victory over Concordia in the championship match.

Williams totaled 197 assists in five matches last week, recording 50 against both Wheaton and St. Norbert’s. She also had nine kills, six blocks and 59 digs.
