Carthage is aiming for its fourth straight team title after edging out Wheaton by 11 points in 2004, and has won four team titles since the CCIW began sponsoring a tennis championship in 1986. Wheaton holds the most conference championships with 10.
The Lady Reds advanced to the second round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Tennis Championships last season, winning 5-1 over Carleton, but losing 5-2 to Gustavus Adolphus.
